On a recent overnight trip to Savannah after scanning numerous dining options we settled on the gem that is Erica Davis Lowcountry. Since it was a Friday evening we made a phone call to ensure we could be seated. We were told it would be 30-45 minutes. Upon arrival, checked in with the hostess and waited about 15 minutes before being seated. There is some seating on the inside while you wait and plenty of room on the outside to also hang out. Phenomenal customer service on a busy holiday weekend. Best fried green tomatoes I’ve had in a LONG time-well seasoned and crunchy shell! Crab cakes were fresh, excellent size and great amount of crab meat, but lacked flavor on their own IMO; however, was much improved with the included side cup of sauce. The green beans had no seasoning which was underwhelming but again fresh/quality food. Collard greens were good. The key lime pie in a cup was wonderful. Great experience.
On our last night in Savannah we debated over and over about where to eat. I lost count of how many times we zoomed in and out of Google Maps on our phones trying to find somewhere close since we did not want to fight with the downtown Savannah traffic.
