How Payment Protection Works
You Book & We Hold
Pay a deposit now; the balance is collected automatically about a week before your event. Every dollar is held under protected booking — none of it goes to the vendor yet.
Check-In Together
At your event, you and the vendor each confirm arrival in the app. That mutual check-in releases half — they can cover their working costs, you've verified they showed up.
You Confirm Delivery
After the event, confirm everything was delivered as promised and the rest releases — add a tip if they crushed it (vendors keep 100% of tips).
Or Freeze It
Something wrong? Open a dispute within your confirmation window and all remaining funds freeze instantly until it's resolved fairly.

Flag any problem from your booking dashboard before your confirmation window closes (24 hours to 3 days after the event, depending on size). The moment you do, every remaining dollar freezes — nothing moves until it's resolved.
Adjust, Don't Escalate

Most problems aren't all-or-nothing ("one of the eight lights died"). The vendor proposes an adjusted invoice, you accept, and the difference is refunded to you automatically — no fees, no mediator, usually within days.
Neutral Resolution

If an adjustment doesn't settle it, the dispute escalates to a binding ruling — refund, partial refund, or payment confirmation, with the reasoning explained to both sides. Large-dollar disputes go to a neutral arbitrator, not just us.

What if my vendor cancels?
You receive a 100% refund immediately. Our team will also reach out to help you find a replacement vendor at no extra cost. If the cancellation happens within 72 hours of your event, we prioritize finding an emergency replacement from our vendor network.
How long does a refund take?
Refunds for no-shows and vendor cancellations are initiated within 24 hours of confirmation. The funds typically appear in your account within 5-10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer. Dispute-related refunds are processed within 1 business day of the resolution decision.
What counts as a valid dispute?
Valid disputes include: vendor no-shows, services that significantly differed from what was booked (wrong equipment, fewer staff than promised, late arrival that impacted your event), or unprofessional behavior. Disputes based solely on subjective taste preferences (e.g., "I didn't like their music selection") are handled on a case-by-case basis.
How is this different from other platforms' guarantees?
Most marketplace guarantees are a refund promise if the vendor cancels — useful, but reactive. Vensho's protection is structural: your money is staged, so a vendor is never paid in full before delivering, and the final release waits for YOUR confirmation rather than a timer. Disputes freeze funds instantly instead of chasing money after it's gone, and the most common fix — a partial invoice adjustment — is free and fast. Vendors get real protection too, which keeps the best ones on the platform.
