The Harold Washington Library was incredible! The overall cleanliness of the library was excellent, not only for a major city, but for any location. There was art everywhere I turned as I wandered through the aisles and throughout the 10 floors. This library is phenomenal unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It has four levels on the north side and five on the south. When you enter on the first floor, you walk into a grand hall with several different rooms. There are interactive spaces, including areas for kids and even a bookstore and a dance studio. It’s also a popular spot for special-occasion photos; I saw two different couples taking their wedding pictures there. This library is definitely a must-visit if you’re in Chicago.
This is a very large and beautiful library located in the heart of the City. My son and I attended a story time event in the Thomas Hughes Children's Room hosted by Fox 32. We had a great time. I could give one more star for the experience, but this Library does not have its own parking lot. Still worth the trip!
